Android Pukes The Sacrificing Hands go from strength to strength on this, my favourite album of theirs so far. There is a palpable feeling of ghosts surrounding the project, holding the music in an ancient container. This could be the soundtrack to a haunted love story or part of a magical ceremony to reconnect us to land and ancestors. Favorite track: Altar.

about

In 1651 the Royalists were defeated by the Parliamentarians at the Battle of Wigan Lane. Though relatively minor the battle was to have significant consequences for the Royalist cause. On 1974 kids played in what we knew as the 'bloody meadow'. The place has a dark magic all of its own. Memory, myth and magic are embroiled in these songs.
